Sexually transmitted diseases happen because of multiple partners and having casual sex, most often. However, one partner who indulges in sex with multiple partners can infect the other. This is why clinics and doctors recommend safe sex so as to avoid unwanted sexual diseases. Sexually transmitted disease are usually not life threatening, if diagnosed in the early stages and if the person takes proper care of themselves and takes the full course of the prescribed medication. However, HIV and AIDS is a fatal form of STD and needs constant monitoring. Some of the more common STDs are bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, hepatitis B, human papillomavirus, genital herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea and Chlamydia. Most sexually active people are in the high risk zone if they do not take proper precautions and have multiple sexual partners.
